Viking

The leader of the herd. 21 years young he is gentle and kind, and often pushed around by his herd members. Sharp as a tack, he doesn’t miss anything. Viking can take a while to let new people in, but once he does you have a friend for life.

Elvis

Elvis enjoys being the centre of attention. Elvis is a big gentle giant that welcomes a pat and a cuddle and he truly loves unconditionally. The best shoulder to lean on. His biggest passion is food – he will steal anyone’s dinner if he gets the opportunity!

Rummy

Rummy is an orange furred dude originally from sunny QLD. Rummy is a very clear communicator. He loves his herd and doesn’t like them out of his eyesight. He has a cheeky nature and he is often seen trying to engage other herd members in play fights. He does not like dogs, Rummy prefers the company of cats.

Katie

Katie is the only mare (female) of the herd. She is a real sweetheart who adores company and attention although she can be picky about when and where she is patted. Katie is very social and will often call out a hello to anyone passing.

Penny the Cat

Penny likes to spend her day lounging around the big shed. She is very friendly and chirpy. Penny often comes and goes as she is an explorer at heart. She is often seen on the fences talking to the horses.

Wozzie

Wozzie is an inquisitive and sensitive soul. He is a paint quarter horse and around 15 years old. Rescued from an abusive environment at a young age, Wozzie has overcome his rough start in life to become a real people horse. Wozzie is kind, gentle and a friend to everyone. He is protective of his herd, whether it be two legs or four. He was once seen chasing a dog who was trying to eat the neighbours chickens! Wozzie has a heart of gold and he is a much-loved member of the team.

Dallas

Dallas is our resident therapy dog in training. She is playful, affectionate, enthusiastic, intelligent, excitable and loves meeting new people - especially kids! Kelpies are instinctively born to work, and Dallas is already thriving in her therapy role. While we don’t have any sheep or cattle for her to round up, she enjoys keeping a watchful eye over everyone and everything at Los Equidos.

Tex and Douglas

Tex (left) and Douglas (right) are brothers, adopted as kittens from one of our local cat rescues. They both love exploring, playing, cuddles and meeting new friends. While they are close to identical in looks, their personalities are ying and yang. Tex is bold and adventurous while Douglas is quiet and observant.
